Resident Seeks Growth Opportunity in Specific Location; Hospital Seeks Specific Physician for Growing Practice

The Client

When Amanda Allen, an OBGYN resident at Central Michigan University, started looking for practices the summer before her final program year, a family friend referred her to Jordan Search Consultants. Familiar with the firm, the contact knew that JSC had just launched its Career Placement Solutions department, designed to match highly-qualified candidates with hiring healthcare organizations. The Challenges

Amanda knew she wanted to land at a practice within 40 minutes of Toledo, Ohio where she had family. She wanted to be part of an established and growing practice with senior partners who would become mentors. She also desired a practice associated with a robust NICU to help serve her future patients. Matt Jordan, JSC’s Senior Search Consultant, was up for the challenge.

The Solution

Matt comprehensively interviewed Amanda to find out exactly what kind of position would make her happy. He evaluated her CV and advised her on how it could be improved. Then, he researched organizations within Amanda’s geographic parameters that met her criteria. The Results

Amanda signed a contract with Mercy in October 2015 and started in August 2016. According to Tom, “Amanda’s career goals and approach to patient care mirror our core values and mission. She is happy, her partners are happy, and the organization is happy to have her.” Now, Amanda can focus on the final year of her residency without worry. And Tom can move on to other recruitment priorities. What’s more, this service cost Amanda nothing and Mercy was only charged a one-time fee after they decided to hire her.
